Overview

Iyuzeld Ngeláxi-ken was founded durring the late 12th century in spring of the year 1054, by Lobordes vyim Roxlendfilf. The establishment of Iyuzeld Ngeláxi-ken was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Lobordes vyim Roxlendfilf electing to pay people to resettle in Iyuzeld Ngeláxi-ken.

Iyuzeld Ngeláxi-ken was built using the conventions of Gnollish durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Iyuzeld Ngeláxi-ken is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Iyuzeld Ngeláxi-ken is buildings are arranged arround a network of narrow carved bedrock streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town has a fortified albit thin brick wall. The wall has most of the feeatures of a typical castle wall, just on a much smaller scale and and budget. Notably brick isn't a particuarly soild choice for resisting siege weapons. Iyuzeld Ngeláxi-ken's wall wouldn't hinder a proper army, but it is more than sufishent for bandits and other small marauding groups. Iyuzeld Ngeláxi-ken's monster and outlaw focused fortifications are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.

Iyuzeld Ngeláxi-ken seems to be abandoned at first. There are people present, working their trades and going about their business like any community, it’s just they are absurdly quiet. Just as you start to think there might be trouble, you see most of them are reading. The entire town feels like a library, with those not reading remaining quite to not disturb those who have their nose in a book. The longer you remain in Iyuzeld Ngeláxi-ken the more you start to wonder if you’ve entered some strange open-concept University rather than a town, but you can’t quite say such with certainty.

Cultural Notes

Religious leaders are influential in almost any community, but in Iyuzeld Ngeláxi-ken they make up the final authorities. It may be an explicit theocracy, with rule by the clerics of a particular faith, or a temple might be so important and powerful that the official leaders are helpless to resist its will. The locals can be expected to be loyal adherents to the faith, or else the less pious majority is deeply intimidated by the religion’s believers.

Iyuzeld Ngeláxi-ken's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by towering round arches, massive stone and brickwork, small windows, thick walls, and a propensity for housing art and sculpture depicting mythological scenes. The building's general shape would be a clever and ascetic combination of geometric shapes, which would be blended together by joining elements. The style's decorative features were largely internal rather than external and incorporated semicircular arches for windows, doors, and arcades; barrel or groin vaults to support the roof of the nave; massive piers and walls, with few windows, to contain the outward thrust of the vaults; side aisles with galleries above them..

In Iyuzeld Ngeláxi-ken during thunderstorms, with each flash of lightning, everyone sees different monsters from the corner of their eyes.
